Now let me tell y’all about a good way to make chicken and shells, I ain’t no fancy cook, but I sure know how to make somethin’ tasty. Y’all ever heard of stuffed shells with chicken? It’s real easy and sure fills ya up. This here recipe is simple, don’t need no special ingredients, just stuff what you got in the kitchen and you’re good to go.
First off, y’all need to get yourself some big ol’ pasta shells. Not them little ones, no sir, you need the big ones so you can stuff ’em right full. You’ll also need some chicken, best if you got rotisserie chicken cause it saves ya time. Just tear it up into little pieces. If you don’t got rotisserie, just boil some chicken breasts and shred ’em up too.
Now, for the sauce, you gotta have some Alfredo sauce. I just buy the jarred stuff ’cause it’s easy and gets the job done. You can make your own if you want, but like I said, I’m all about keepin’ things simple. If you want it a little cheesier, add in some extra Parmesan cheese, makes it real good and creamy.
Alright, let’s get started with puttin’ it all together. First, cook your pasta shells like it says on the box, don’t overcook ’em though, they gotta hold up when you stuff ’em. Once they’re done, drain ‘em and set ‘em aside to cool down a bit.
Next, in a big ol’ bowl, mix together your chicken and some of that Alfredo sauce. Add a little bit of salt and pepper if you want, but not too much, we don’t want it too salty. Then, take that mixture and start stuffin’ it into your pasta shells. Don’t be shy, fill ‘em up good. Once all the shells are stuffed, lay ’em out in a baking dish, and pour the rest of that Alfredo sauce over the top. Don’t forget to sprinkle some Parmesan cheese over it too. Oh, and if you like your food a little crispy on top, throw some breadcrumbs on top of the cheese.
Now, cover the dish with some foil and pop it in the oven. Bake it at about 350 degrees for 25 minutes, then take off the foil and bake it for another 10 minutes or so. You want that cheese to be all bubbly and golden. When it comes out, it’s gonna smell so good, y’all won’t be able to wait to dig in.
Serve it up with a little salad or maybe some garlic bread on the side, and you’ve got yourself a hearty meal. My family loves it every time I make it, and it don’t take all day either. It’s just one of them meals that hits the spot, real comfortin’ and satisfying.
So there ya have it, chicken and shells the easy way. It ain’t no fancy restaurant dish, but it sure is delicious. You don’t need to be a master chef to make somethin’ good, just use what you got and keep it simple, just like us folks in the country do. Happy cookin’, y’all!
